‘Liverpool Chinatown Photographic Society’ sent a balloon carrying well wishes messages up to the earth’s stratosphere 100,000 ft high and release them to raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Photos and video were captured its epic journey up into the sky and release of the messages. We launched the balloon on Saturday 8th August 2015.
It was challenging, but worthwhile as it was for good cause. We had a couple of friends who dealt with the scientific part of the launch. They provided the tracking device so we could locate the landing spot when it returned to earth. It was great team work.
We raised about £1000 for the new Liverpool Alder Hey Children hospital. Thanks to everyone who supported this event.
Members attended were : Wing W Wong, David Hynes, Will Wu, Steve Brophy, Tommy Wong, Guoxin Chen, and Suzanne Grace.
Here are some of the behind the scene photographs.
