Activity – Bursting Water-filled Balloon Photography 04/05/2022

Sue Mannings has suggested that we should hold a studio activity photographing exploding water balloons. The earliest opportunity for this was Wednesday 4th May. All the needed bits and pieces have been bought and gathered ready for the evening of the activity.

All members attended were actively involved in setting up the lighting, background, water-proof sheeting on floor with bin in position to catch the exploding water, etc. Some members were busy filling the balloons with water, milk, food colouring, colour rush powder, etc in the kitchen.

Dave Leeke prepared the electronic device (sound activating trigger) to fire his camera when the water balloon bursts, where the camera would trigger the flash at the same time. Dave also used a manual method of bursting the balloons and remotely firing the flash. The results are stunning.

Members attended : Sue Mannings, David Leeke, Sue Emery, Jeff Starley, Alan Clague, Norman Jou, John Oswald, Neil Prendergast, John Bickerstaff, Walter Eaton, Neville  Rumsby, John Sung and Wing W Wong.
